Standing up for Workers
“Our economy can’t exist without our workforce. As Supervisor, I will always put workers first and be a champion for our labor community.” - Rodney Lusk
Rodney is proud to be one of only two candidates in Fairfax County who received the support of every labor organization who made an endorsement in the 2019 primary cycle. As a member of the Board, Rodney has been a champion of the labor movement. He has been a leading voice for the adoption of collective bargaining, project labor agreements on County projects and responsible bidder ordinances.
Rodney has also consistently supported market rate adjustments and competitive salaries for county employees.
Finally, Rodney has led the flagship effort of the county to move residents into the middle class—the Workforce Innovation and Skills Hub (W.I.S.H.). Through partnerships with all 13 of the building trades in our region, Rodney has established the infrastructure to provide cost-free pre-apprenticeship training for county residents so that they can access high-paying trades jobs and punch their ticket to the middle class.
